Bassenthwaite is just off the Cumbrian Way so there are local walks for all levels with varying difficulty and distances. A short car journey will take you to a network of tried and tested walks with stunning scenery of local lakes and fells. As we are in the heart of the Lakes there are opportunities for activities on the water. We have provided a taste of whats available via the links below.
Cockermouth a few minutes to the East of Bassenthwaite is the birthplace of William Wordsworth. The Mire House is opposite Dodds Wood and the Osprey VIew Point so you can do both with one trip.
For those that like a tipple or are interested in the process there is Jennings Brewery and the Lakes Distillery on offer.
